Docstoc is an interesting idea – a sharing site devoted to professional documents where community members can upload, comment on, rate, and download documents in a variety of formats. It's sort of like Scribd, but with more an emphasis on professional documents like contracts, budgets, and leases. Docstoc supports files in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF formats and uses Adobe FlashPaper to display the documents in your browser. The folks at Docstoc have provided us with 1,000 invites for blognation readers. Go to the signup page and enter “blognation” in the invite code field.
It's a good library of documents. The community rating and commenting system is what will really make it work, though, if enough people join in. I can't really tell if one living will is better than another, so insightful commentary would help.
Docstoc CEO Jason Nazar has posted a video describing how Docstoc works on the company’s blog. When you log into your Docstoc account, you’re presented with a list of the most popular documents in the repository.
Docstoc can also be used like Scribd and other document sharing services, as an embedding engine for shared books or other nonvideo media files.
